Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council elections
One third of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council in South Yorkshire, England is elected each year, followed by one year without election. Since the last boundary changes in 2004, 63 councillors have been elected from 21 wards.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 More About Elections )〕 Following the failure of the council in dealing with the sexual abuses scandal, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles announced on 4th February 2015 that he would also make an order under the Local Government Act 2000 to compel Rotherham council to switch to holding all-out elections (where all members will be up for election) in 2016 and then every fourth year.
